THIS is why we don't have nice things!

The Low Anthem sold out tonight... Wasn't expecting that...

On the plus side they did physically return my call to inform me of such, so points to Bootleg Theater...

In other news, The Kinsella Brothers rocked the 30-person house at SOhO...

What is happening here, folks? Is local music dying a slow, anthropomorphic death?

Hmmmm...

Ted Leo and the Pharmacisits tonight at SOhO

Club Mercy has Ted Leo and the Pharmacists tonight at SOhO!  Should be a fun, indie rock show.  Here's some info:

Ted Leo first emerged on the hardcore scene of the late 1980s in the bands Citizen's Arrest, Animal Crackers and Chisel. He's since become one of the most innovative and important figures in the east coast rock scene, both as a solo artist and as the front man for The Pharmacists. Hear Ted Leo and his band in a full concert, recorded live from the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Mar. 29, 2007.

Drawing from artists like Billy Bragg, Curtis Mayfield and Clash singer Joe Strummer, Ted Leo mixes punk rock with soul, folk and pop melodies. His music is literate and political with anthemic energy and infectious rhythms.

I'm Heather...

...Often SOhO Heather.  I work at SOhO Restaurant and Music Club in Santa Barbara ("live music, 7 nights a week!").

I work, play, live, eat and breathe music.  Usually more than is probably healthy.  I mean, there should be breaks in there for sleep, gardening, politics, etc... right?

And here I am, in my free time, blogging about music.  No hope for the addicted, I guess.

Oh, well.

Here goes...
